Earth Hour 2009 takes place on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 8:30 pm–local time, wherever you are on Earth.The main point of Earth Hour is to unite people, companies and governments around the world through the symbolic flip of a switch. Flipping the switch (turning off all non-essential lighting) for Earth Hour is an easy way for everyone to participate and demand action wherever they are.
